Novalee's First Milk Bath Session!

As a photog mom, you dream of all of the sessions you can do with your children. One of those for me is Milk Baths! This Saturday we took a trip to Little Italy's Farmer's market and picked up some flowers.  We made it home pretty late but wasted no time!

 Right as the sun was setting we made a set up in the back yard and got Nova undressed as quickly as we could. Heated up some water and plucked the flowers. 

While it wasn't an ideal time of the day (ISO was riding 2k!!!) I still love these sooo much.

I was so excited to get to use the bonnet I hand-sewed for her!

Military Mom - Nursing Portraits

First off, I have an AMAZING husband who supports everything I want to do, love to do, and suggests the best things. Like yesterday, while on a lunch break, he took these portraits of myself nursing our daughter and I edited them. He's getting pretty good, Huh?!

Some of you may know that we are a 'dul mil' family and actually met in Fire Controlmen A School way back in Jan 2015. I am a reservist and he is active duty stationed here in San Diego. This weekend was a drill weekend where I go in with my unit who supports LCS ships in port....

But that doesn't change my other responsibilities at home.

Nursing and nurturing this sweet girl is one of the greatest responsibilities I have ever had the privilege to possess. 

This little girl is the light of our world and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am so grateful to be her mother to continue to grow with her.

Free-lensing & Double Exposure in Camera

In Camera Art!

I have continued to practice free-lensing; it's so freeing! (see what I did there? haha). Also, In-camera double exposure - Ever hear of it? Well, I tried it for the first time today on my Canon 6D MII!

Honestly, I am really excited to play around with these in-camera double exposures. Hopefully, I will learn more tips and tricks along the way to land more killer shots!

WEEKLY TOP TEN - FREELENSING

I tried freelensing for the first time!!! I regularly participate in Jackie Jeans weekly challenges. This last week I was very surprised to see freelensing as the challenge. I had never done this before but have seen it done beautifully in the oast by others. 

Freelensing is where you detach your lens from your camera, hold it in front of your lens mount and shoot through it. It creates interesting out of focus areas.

Novalee's Christmas Photo Session

 Novalee Is Three Months Old!

I can't believe it! My baby girl is three months old. She has quite the way to show her expression and I absolutely love it. Here are some of the images from a little Christmas Photo mini we put together. String lights, white blanket, Christmas Book from Costco, and a low aperture lens can do wonders.
